Internship: Downstream processes for the production of sustainable chemicals and fuels

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) is one of the world's leading organizations for application-oriented research. 75 institutes develop pioneering technologies for our economy and society – more precisely: 32 000 people from technology, science, administration and IT. They know: Anyone who comes to Fraunhofer wants to and can make a difference. For themselves, for us and for the markets of today and tomorrow.

The finite nature of fossil fuels is increasingly forcing a rethink in energy policy. Intensive use of biogenic residues can replace fossil fuels. The use of biomass in energy-intensive processes (process heat supply) in particular poses major challenges for many operators. To drive development forward, it is essential to develop new technologies and further optimize existing processes. Various plants with different performance ranges are available at the Fraunhofer UMSICHT Institute in Sulzbach-Rosenberg for testing new technologies in the field of biomass energy utilization. We offer you challenging tasks with responsibility and creative freedom, as well as an innovative research environment with close ties to industry.
