Student assistant "Laser technology"
The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg is the largest solar research institute in Europe. Our around 1,400 employees work for a sustainable, economical, safe and socially fair energy supply system based on renewable energies. We contribute to this with our research priorities of energy supply, energy distribution, energy storage and energy use. Through outstanding research results, successful industrial projects, spin-off companies and global cooperation, we shape the sustainable transformation of the energy system.
Be part of change
Would you like to play an active role in shaping the energy transition and gain practical experience during your studies? To support our “Laser Process Technology” and “Laser System Engineering” groups, we are constantly looking for student assistants to carry out, develop, and characterize laser material processing procedures, as well as to assist with our laboratory setups and the following activities:
You will support our “Laser Process Technology” and “Laser System Engineering” groups, which deal with a wide range of different applications of laser technology, from the manufacture of important components for the energy transition with a focus on solar cells and modules made of silicon and other semiconductors. One focus is the development, implementation, characterization, modeling, and simulation of laser material processing in the areas of structuring, ablation, joining, and surface modification. Another focus is the development of suitable system technology. We work in our own laboratory with state-of-the-art laser systems and more than 30 different beam sources. You can find more information about our work topics at here.
